How Schools Use Sleight of Hand When Teaching Evolution
In schools all over the world, evolution is presented to students as an
established scientific fact. But what evidence is provided to support this
claim?
Time and again, the examples that are actually given are of natural selection.
And since natural selection is an easy-to-understand concept that can quite
obviously produce visible changes in organisms, students (and teachers!) are
convinced.
But they’ve been duped. Because natural selection is not evolution. In fact, on
a genetic level, it produces exactly the opposite sort of change to what
evolution actually requires!
Join researcher and school lab manager, Julie Neller, to discover what natural
selection actually does—and why mutations are unable to save the day for
evolution.
