In living cells, there is something amazing: Biological robots, that demonstrate nanotechnology way beyond anything that man can make. Machines, such as the ATP Synthase, common in all living cells, require many component parts which are useless until the machine is fully formed, thus defy evolutionary explanation. Even more amazing is that the recipe (DNA) needed to build this machine, needs that machine working first in order to get that recipe. And there must be machines to untangle the DNA while it’s being read.

There are no textual, geographic, linguistic, or even probabilistic reasons to hold to a near-Mesopotamian Eden. The few words used in parallel before and after the Flood are easily explained and the specific geography given in Scripture does not match anything in the region, nor indeed anywhere on the earth today.

Eschatology is core to CMI’s ministry in one sense—we absolutely assert that the goal of Jesus’ work was to restore not just believers, but the entire physical creation. And this will happen when He comes again. No matter what various people believe about the timing, or how to interpret various prophecies, getting the biblical foundations right means we all should look forward to the day when we stand on the restored earth with our resurrection bodies, in the presence of our incredible Creator.

Also, we live in a sin-cursed world where many originally ‘good’ things have turned bad. When the coronavirus jumped to people, that was very, very, bad, but this gives us another opportunity to share the gospel.

Supposedly, it began as a singularity, an unimaginably hot ‘point’ into which was compressed all the matter and energy now making up the billions of galaxies found throughout space. Biblical creationists, of course, should reject big bang theory because the order of events contradicts the Bible. Christians need not be intimidated into accepting secular accounts of origins.

Flat earth claims have exploded on the Internet. However, essentially nobody in Christianity ever taught this, although they had a very high view of Scripture. The Bible simply doesn’t teach that the earth is flat. E.g., the Venerable Bede in the 8th century taught a spherical earth, and Thomas Aquinas in the 13th century thought that a globe earth was one of the most obvious and well known facts of his day. Medieval students could do a better job of proving a global earth than most students today.

The doctrine of the Trinity states that in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and co-equal Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the same in essence but distinct in role — three Persons (or three centres of consciousness) and one Being. The doctrine of the Trinity is difficult for some people to understand, but this is what God has revealed in Scripture about His own Being, so we should believe it.

All dating methods involve making assumptions. But many scientific dating methods, with reasonable assumptions, do not support deep time and an old universe. Hundreds of dating methods support a young earth and recent creation of the universe.

Some people suggest that because babies are so expensive, pro-lifers must be willing to pay for their care. If we are not, they say we have no right to object to them being killed in the womb. We respond to this and other pro-abortion arguments.

Currently, to our shame, millions of people, including many of our own neighbours, have no idea that there is a biblical alternative to evolution. Having rejected God on the grounds of belief in evolution, the guys I met at a hospital were hardly likely to give the time of day to the church’s message of salvation in Jesus.

The idea that death was in creation before the Fall has major implications for the character of God. The same problem arises if one thinks that God used evolution to create. At some point, this allegedly ‘good’ God ordains a lottery of death that finally results in humans, and then God looks at His image-bearers, standing on top of layers upon layers of rocks filled with the remains of billions of dead things, and proclaims His whole creation ‘very good’?
